WORK of OUR HANDS

Fall Festival

Contact Person:  Mr. Tim Kautza

“The community of believers were of one heart and one mind.  None of them ever claimed anything as one’s own; rather everything was held in common.” (Acts 4:32)  As the early Church shared their talents and gifts with one another, we at St. Mary-Holy Cross Parish also share with each other.  It is with great pride that we present the second edition of the Work of Our Hands directory to our parish community.  This endeavor was initiated in 2002 through our Parish Social Concerns Committee.  It was started for three reasons: (1) to give all parishioners another way to build community and solidarity, (2) to introduce you to artisans, service-providers, hobbyists, and others in our Parish who are willing to provide their services or goods for a fee or barter, and (3) to give those who would provide such services and goods a way of letting others know about it.

This directory lists parishioners who are willing to provide services or goods for a fee or barter. Some participants hope to increase sales of products or services they currently produce part-time so they might eventually grow their business to a full-time venture.  Some hope to supplement their incomes to meet special needs.  Others just want to share their skills and goods with people who can make use of them for an exchange of goods, or barter. Still others have found that they regularly have a surplus of goods or time that they’d like to share.

Although the Parish can’t guarantee the quality of the products and services provided by the parishioners listed in this directory, we hope you will consider contacting one or more of the participants when you are in need of their services and products and find out more about them. And, take advantage of Work of Our Hands Festivals when participants gather to personally demonstrate or explain their products and services.  Please notify Mr. Tim Kautza if you’d like to become a Work of Our Hands participant and share your skills, talents, and products with others.

Let us be “believers of one heart and mind” and share in the Work Of Our Hands.
Rev. Deacon Jerry Barnwell
