RITE of CHRISTIAN INITIATION of ADULTS (RCIA)

People come from many different backgrounds and levels of belief to learn more about the Catholic way of life.  Some may have extensive experience with the Church through the influence of a spouse or child, a grandparent or a friend.  Others have been attracted through the witness of Catholics in their daily life or through a service offered in a time of need.  Some have little experience of connection with the church, but have a yearning or longing that nothing else has satisfied.  All are welcomed into an inquiry community where they may ask questions, discuss experiences and discover more about who we are as Catholic people.   If you, or someone you know, want to learn more about the Catholic way of life, please contact Tim Kautza at 515-964-7687 or email at kautza@netins.net .  Participation in the inquiry sessions does not require you to commit to joining the Church.  We ask only that you be open to learning more about God, the Catholic tradition and yourself.

Welcome Todd Beukema and Lindsey Neppl

This weekend at the 10:00a.m. Mass, we welcome into full Communion of the Catholic Church Todd Beukema and Lindsey Neppl.  Todd was baptized in the Methodist tradition and Lindsey was baptized Catholic.  They both will celebrate the Rite of Reception and Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.  We thank Lindsey’s and Todd’s families and former faith communities that planted the seed of faith in their lives.  In addition we thank the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) Team which has nurtured their Christian faith over the past months.  Please help welcome Lindsey and Todd into our faith community during the Rite and at a reception afterward.  Also keep Nicole Parker in your prayers.  Nicole is a non-baptized catechumen who is considering joining us at Easter Vigil.

RCIA gatherings:  Mondays, February 13, 20, 27, 7:00pm in 3rd grade classroom in the Ed Center.
