Dear Member of St. Mary – Holy
Cross Faith Community
We
invite you to participate in a wonderful opportunity to grow in your
relationship with Jesus Christ. This fall our parish will participate in the
third of a four-part process of renewal and evangelization sponsored by the
diocese entitled “On a Journey Together.” We hope you’ll join us on this
journey, even if you were unable to participate in an earlier session.
On
a Journey Together
will give you the opportunity to reflect on Sacred Scripture, spend time with
teachings about the Church, and contemplate your role as a member of the Body
of Christ and a citizen of the world. You’ll do this in a welcoming small group
gathering of fellow parishioners at convenient times and locations that best
fit your availability. Some groups will gather at the parish hall, our
Religious Education Center, or in their homes.
Participants
in our first session told us: ...
The
faith of others in my group enhanced my own faith… Although it is hard for me
to share, it does get easier… It brought me closer to God and my faith more
into my daily living… I am not the only one questioning my faith… This enhances
every other aspect of our church community… Sharing my faith makes my own faith
stronger… Everyone has trouble sharing their faith… God is in everyone… Such a
wonderful discussion!
We

will find sign-up cards in the pews of St. Mary and Holy Cross churches. Please consider participating in On a Journey Together, encourage your
friends to join you, and sign up soon.
Weekly gatherings will begin October 3, 2010 with a large group
orientation and conclude with a large group celebration on November 21, 2010.
